The Trail Riders  "What's New" 2007

January: Hope everyone had a great New Years. We are looking forward to another great year. We finished our new CD, "Somewhere in my Heart". You can pick one up at one of our shows or email us for information on how to get yours.

Check out the schedule to see our show listings. We'd love for you to come to a show and listen to our music.

Rich: My family has been enjoying the CD. My 3 year old son Connor dances in the living room to it. Getting my new practice area set up to start working on new material for the upcoming season. Had a great holiday season this year. It went by very quickly. Connor made out like a bandit at Christmas. Talk to you all soon!!

Anne Marie: Hope everyone had a happy holiday season. Josh and Kyle were able to come home on leave from the Air Force for the holidays. It was great to have the whole family together. I even forced everyone into a family portrait (the first on in ten years!!!) 2007 is starting out fantastic with the release of our first CD. It's been a long time coming, but I am so glad we put the time and effort into making it special. We've had a great response in the first few weeks since it's release. Please e-mail us and let us know what your favorite songs on the CD are. We love them all so we have a hard time picking which ones to play at our shows. Let us know which ones you would like to hear. Wishing you all a happy, healthy and prosperous New Year.

February:

Jerry: I have enjoyed spending time with my family. Anne Marie and I painted the new band room practice area in our house. I would rather stick a sharp object into my eye than paint, but Anne Marie and I actually had fun and I am glad it is finally completed. We set everything up and we now have more elbow room.

I had a vintage 1968 Fender guitar amplifier that was just sitting around the house and thought it was time to sell it. Austin has been playing the drums for about 2 to 3 years now and I thought it was about time to invest in a drum set for him in hopes that he continues playing. I traded in the guitar amplifier for a brand new TAMA drum set and he is so excited. The only problem I have with this is that I have to pry his butt off them to come down for dinner. It could be worse.

Lou and I have been working on songs that we have been hired for, by a couple of local songwriters and it is going very well. These songs will be promoted in Nashville in hopes that a major Nashville recording artist will pick them up.

Thank-you for all your support in promoting our CD and we look forward to seeing you at our shows this year.

Anne Marie: On March 5, I attended the Country 92.5 Concert for Kids at the Cadillac Ranch with my son Josh’s girlfriend, Sarah. What an AWESOME concert!!!!!! Twelve year old Courtney Drummey opened the night with two songs. Quite a performer for such a young girl. I was hoping to get to talk to her and ask her if she was looking for a drummer to back her up. Austin will be twelve on March 31 and with her voice and his drumming, who knows what could happen!!! Donovan Chapman, who sings “I Want To Live In A House Like That” was absolutely amazing, combining his Cajun and Hawaiian roots into magnificent music. He also is an eleven-year United States Air Force veteran. He agreed to have a picture taken with me after the concert since I was proudly wearing my Air Force sweatshirt to honor my boys. Jason Michael Carrol was quite a surprise with how deep his voice goes when he sings. Believe me, “Alyssa Lies” is not his only song that will be on the hit charts. He is an absolutely amazing performer!!! Rushlow Harris consists of Tim Rushlow, past lead singer for Little Texas, and his cousin, Toni Harris. The first song they sang was “What Might Have Been” which is my all time favorite Little Texas song. The harmonies were impeccable!!! I can’t wait to hear more from them. Danielle Peck is an absolutely drop-dead gorgeous woman who’s voice is as pure as it sounds on her CD’s. I was amused by the effect she had on the rest of the male performers at the concert. They all had high hopes of being the “good man” she’s looking for!!!! Keith Anderson – what can I say about this XXL man. For a huge guy, you can tell his heart is as big as his arms. When Jason Michael Carrol sang “Alyssa Lies”, Keith Anderson actually had to wipe tears from his face! Good looking, extremely talented and sensitive too! The only other man that fits that category in my book is my wonderful husband, Jerry!!!!! And Keith was kind enough to give Sarah a kiss and pose for a picture with her. That made her night, although Josh was not as excited about it as Sarah was!!!! And finally, Steve Holy. When he finished off the night with “Brand New Girlfriend” the place went wild!!!! He was having such a good time performing for all of us there and his excitement just rubbed off on everyone. So thanks so much to Country 92.5 for putting together such a great night and thanks Bosch, for taking a picture with me. Thanks to the Cadillac Ranch for donating the Ranch for the concert. Thanks to all the performers who thoroughly entertained us and then stuck around to take pictures, sign autographs, and hand out guitar picks (I got one from Keith Anderson, Tim Rushlow and Toni Harris to add to Jerry’s collection!), and thanks most of all to Sarah, for asking me to go with her to such an AWESOME event. I can’t wait until next years Concert for Kids!!!!!
